Mark Nye - Bass/Vocals

Chapter 1: And so the story begins…
In the 2000's core members Ken and Will Newsome, and Paul Cunningham (along with a host of bassists) wrote, recorded, and toured the US. 2007-2010 found the peaks of both highs and lows, showcasing for labels, van touring from coast to coast, and a looming production deal, all bringing about high tensions and an unofficial hiatus…
Devastatingly, in Feb of 2019, Ken tragically passed away.
Chapter 2: Mission Statement
After many months of soul searching Will returned to the studio to finish songs he had worked on with producer Jim Wirt (Hoobastank, Incubus, AAF, Fiona Apple). Calling upon the help of longtime friend/producer Joe Viers (Sonic Lounge), as well as close friends Matt Mees (drums), and Jeff Martin (drums). Emotions poured over the final sessions, as the final song tracked fell on 10/05…Ken’s birthday. Released under the moniker, ‘THE END’, the EP “And So the Story Begins...Again” (Nov 2019) was nothing less than Will’s statement.
During the pandemic of 2020-21, Will spent time in TN finishing the follow-up EP, "When Only the Devil We Know Can Save Us", with producer Brett Hestla (Virgos Merlot, Creed, Dark New Day), as well as Joe Viers (21 Pilots, BobaFlex, The Lonely Ones) at Sonic Lounge (Grove City, OH). Writing had become therapy, lyrically reflecting the brutally honest battle between coping mechanisms and loss. The song, “Suspended (End Time)” tells a dual story, one of an astronaut trapped in space within a broken craft and coming to terms with the idea of not making it back to Earth…to that of Ken being on life support for 8 days, trapped within his own broken vessel. Halfway through the recording process, Will got a tattoo in memory of Ken, having some of his ashes placed within the ink…an astronaut in space trying to find his way back home. The lyrics and tattoo serve as permanent reminders of being together eternally.
Chapter 3: In Honor of (Full Circle)
In honoring Ken's memory, Will called upon longtime friends (family), Mark Nye (bass/vocals), and Carlos Torres (drums), to help perform the music live, ultimately reforming This Day Forever.
With just a handful of shows under their belt, in Aug of 2022, TDF signed with the label UVT Entertainment/INgrooves distribution.
In the fall of 2022, Carlos was suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 Laryngeal Cancer. With the full support of the label, the band took time off as Carlos underwent treatments.
Now approaching the one-year anniversary of Carlos being cancer-free, TDF has returned to the stage and studio, this time working with producer Jakob Mooney (Mooney Recordings), as well as Joe Viers (Sonic Lounge). The first single, "Carry On (as You Were)" is scheduled for release on October 20, 2023. If the first offering is any indicator, the upcoming EP entitled, "Only Heavy Things Can Come From This", planned for an early 2024 release will be nothing short of visceral, powerful, and honest.
Armed with new life, TDF knows nothing short of pouring their souls into every moment.
